Alan Felton serves as pastor for Salem United Methodist Church.  Alan is attending Duke Divinity School where he is studying for a Master of Divinity degree, with a concentration in gender, theology, and ministry.  He is a native of North Carolina and grew up in Edgecombe County.  He graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, North Carolina with a degree in history and political science.  Alan comes to the ministry following 15 years of working in politics and government.  He is married to Joan Felton, whom he met in college, and they have two children, John Alan (13) and Virginia Gayle (11).
