Our Mission:  Salem is committed to forming disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!

Our Faith:  Jesus Christ is Lord!  By "Lord" we mean that Jesus is one God with the Father and the Holy Spirit.  Because of this we worship him and no other.  By "Lord" we mean that Jesus is the defeater of sin and death and the true ruler of all creation.  Because of this we devote our whole selves to his service and mission of bringing the whole of creation into right relationship with God.

John Wesley:  The founder of Methodism was John Wesley.  Wesley believed that God was revealed to us through Scripture.  He believed our understanding of God was deepened through knowledge of Christian traditions.  Wesley additionally believed that Christian witness was weakened unless it was also understood through reason and experience.  Experience authenticates what we learn in Scripture.  The use of reason allows us to add clarity to our understanding of Scripture and to be able to relate as Christians to "the full range of human knowledge, experience, and service" (Book of Discipline, 2008).
